[Electronics-Talk] Ecobee 4 versus Google Nest

I have a couple of questions about the Ecobee 4 thermostat versus the Google
Nest.

I have owned the Ecobee 4 thermostat for over two years. I lost my Internet
last Monday for 24 hours, needed a new router and modem and once that got
installed, I managed to reinstall all my devices to Wi-Fi except my Ecobee.
The support person said there is no way to put the thermostat back online
other than through the touch screen on the thermostat. Does anyone on the
list know if there is an accessible way to put the thermostat back online so
that it will work with the A person? I did have my sighted son install it
last night, but he may not always be around and I had to wait almost a week.

Does the Google Nest have to be originally set up visually? Thank you.
