[Electronics-Talk] Finding a new life for old technology

We have such a depot. It is called the bottle depot but it also takes small electronics. The owner manager who ran it was shocked to find out that someone was using the depot to donate or even sell what was determined older computers. Older could be as simple as, windows 11 came out so give away or sell computers that came in with 10. The address of the depot was given as to where you could get these things. The thing is though, the rule at the depot was, it must be disposed of, even if in good condition. Want the latest and greatest, no problem take your almost brand new computer to the bottle depot to dispose of it. What a waste of good equipment.

There are also better and cleaner environmental ways to dispose of electronics and old appliances.

Contact your city/county trash disposal department to inquire concerning how to have them picked up or dropped off at a special recycling facility.
Electronic circuits and components in those circuits can leech toxic chemicals into the environment which are cancer causing.

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] Finding a new life for old technology

Hello,

I have gathered up my old assistive technology for getting it out of my house. At some point there were people and/or groups who were gathering these types of products and finding new homes for them with people who could make use of them even though they may not work with Windows10, or maybe cords have been lost. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with these items besides putting them at the curb on garbage day?

Thanks,

Annette
