[Electronics-Talk] renewed vs. refurbished computers.

The refurbished laptop, originally windows 7, upgraded to windows 10, I did not pay for it, the computer was sent to me by a agency that gives away refurbished computers. I don't expect Champaign if I can't even pay for a beer but, don't give me stale beer and claim it is Champaign. It was MS help desk that said there were no audio drivers avaialble because it was originally a windows 7. I requested a second opinion and was told the same thing. So what the store did was do a complete re-install of windows 10. It seems to be working fine now, I'm just concerned with windows 11 coming out, the computer may crash again and this time it will not be able to be salvaged. Thus I looked on Amazon for a laptop with minimum 500 SSD and at least 16 G of RAM. When I phoned Amazon for some clarification I was told "renew" could be, refurbished, out of the box or slightly used. The latter could be as simple as someone just changed their mind. Since it was sent out, even though not really used, Amazon has to classify it as renewed. So far I've never got junk or items that do not work, from Amazon save a few times where the item was not usable because of my vision loss. That's not Amazon's fault though and the item is still good and usable.

Because a PC is refurbished does not mean it is defective. in 2017 I bought a refurbished HP desktop PC and I am still using it today. It's the most reliable PC I have ever owned.
