[Electronics-Talk] renewed vs. refurbished computers.

One other aspect is that some which are sold, perhaps more than some, just
did not pass quality control testing so then they must be sold as
refurbished or renewed.

However, they don't just simply pass them unless there are minor physical
defects but they still are subjected to the rigorous testing and other
evaluation before they are sold.

Then some are returns to the seller and at that point, they must be sold as
refurbished or renewed.

I guess refurbished sounds better than renewed. Just like previously owed
cars, sound better than used cars.

Kim Komando, the computer guru, suggests refurbished computers, because they
are cheaper than new ones. And she says if you get one from a reparable
dealer, they test all of them before selling.

Because a PC is refurbished does not mean it is defective. in 2017 I bought
a refurbished HP desktop PC and I am still using it today. It's the most
reliable PC I have ever owned.
