Is the CD drive on your computer equipped to play DVD? If so, you wouldn't need VLC. The CD drive on my computer plays DVDs.

People here recommended VLC Media Player as a way to play DVDs on my Windows
PC.  I got it, but I'm having trouble with it.  I was hoping I could put in
a DVD of a movie or TV series and watch it on my PC, but it's very difficult
to get out of the menu bit that starts most DVDs and pick a show to watch or
start a movie.

I get into the menu of the software and try checking or clicking various
things, but I stay stuck in the menu "episode".  Once, after about half an
hour of trying things, I got into a movie, but it was dumb luck and I wasn't
able to do it again.

Can anyone advise me on using this program?  I am running Jaws and Windows
10.

My email is carcione at access.net <mailto:carcione at access.net> .

Thanks.

Tracy
