Hi,

Not sure to whom this was addressed. I haven't a DM720 in my possession 
currently but a quick look at their manual online seems to indicate that 
it has the auto record level of which you speak. Some LS-P4's are on 
EBay for insane prices upwards of $400 not counting shipping from Japan. 
I'd sure not go that way myself but they're out there should someone 
really want nothing but an LS-p4. According to Olympus's site at least 
for now the DM720 is still listed as being in production.

I bought my LS-p4 back in 2018 so it's been around for longer than I 
remembered and apparently April 2021 was when it was discontinued I'm 
sorry to read.
