If she used an iPhone previously, then the SE2022 is good yes. What was her previous phone? You said she wants to "stay with an iPhone" so that seems to simplify things a lot. There's really not that many choices once you rule out getting an older phone. iPhone SE2022, 13 mini, 13, 13 pro, 13 pro max. You could also decide to save a little by going for a
12 mini, 12, 12pro or 12pro max. Don't go any older than that if you can afford it though because software updates will dry out.


She will have the fingerprint reader and the physical home button with the SE2022. With all the other options I mention here, she'll need to learn a gesture to go home, and if she uses a secure lock feature like the fingerprint in her previous phone, there is no fingerprint reader on the other modern iPhones so she will need to use face id or just get used to putting in a pin to unlock the phone and such. All that means the SE2022 really is the safest option if she's used to things like fingerprint reader.


Note that some of the extra cool features like mag safe add-on devices like extra batteries etc which work for iPhone 12 and 13 models aren't compatile with iPhone SE2022. Also LiDAR might potentially have a use case for her as a navigational aid and perhaps other things and I believe only the pro models and the pro max models have it. Otherwise, all of the 12 and 13 models are the same as their similarly numbered counterpart e.g. 13 is same as 13 mini with exception of the physical size and battery capacity.
