Whoa, that's kind of weird. The reason why their phone is not ringing, it's because that wire that's connected to the modem also Hass to be connected to the Jack that is in the other room with the modem. So basically, the modem needs to be plugged into a jack, which wired to the other jack in your bedroom. That's what needs to happen. There's no splitter involved unless you're trying to split off two different phones from the same room. So in reality, you should have four different wires, one that's connected to the jack from the wall, from your room that you have the motor mean, and the room that you have the other phone in. Then in the room where the modem is, there is a another wire that is connected to the jack, which would go from the modem to the jack. Four getting the the splitter if you're putting a splitter in there. And then you will be able to power the two if not, you will be able to plug the phone that's gonna be next to the modem into the phone jack. Remember how I talked about needing two different plates. Well the top plate is powering the modem to the bottom plate which is your regular phone jack. And if you want to talk, and you still don't understand this process. Feel free to give me a call. I'll be glad to help you better understand it. My phone number is 254-300-7667.
