[Electronics-Talk] Storage options for NLS audio player

Can the NLS audio player accept other input than the cartridge disks?  I
mean the player that replaced the cassette players.  Can it use a flash
drive?  

I'm thinking of collecting some NLS books for my sister-in-law, because she
doesn't trawl BARD all that well.  I've bought cartridges before and put the
books on them, but it would be easier for me if I could just put them on a
flash drive or 2.  And can someone remind me, do I have to unzip them before
I put them on either the cartridge or a drive, or does the player
auto-magically unzip?

I sent back my NLS player ages ago, since I prefer the Victor Stream.
