[Electronics-Talk] petition blind shell 3 accessibility

First, I didn't even think the Blind Shell ran android.

second, let me put my tech hat on, Even if it does run android, it is NOT in any way a smart phone. It is what's called a feature phone. Feature phones do not give you access to the operating system or the ability to load apps. It likely runs AOSP which will never run Play Store and other Google services, and this is a google restriction not Blindshell. Let's say for one moment that you could load play store and apps onto this device; they wouldn't work even if you try. The device is a feature phone with no touch screen. all apps are designed for touch screen interaction, not to be run on a feature phone. My mom had an old feature phone I played with back a few years ago, and I found out it was actually running android. I tried my best to load a app thru a website or sd card. once I got past all the blocks, dev mode, certificates, etc. I got just one app to load, but it didn't run right since that phone had no screen. I see the same problems for BlindShell.

As for updates. 2 things. 1. it's a feature phone so it doesn't need the latest os, just security updates. Now if google stops those updates then google and blindshell will need to talk about going to a new version. 2. to add to the fun for android updates. Each android device model has to be certified with google for a certain version of android. once certified, it's difficult to get recertified with a new version (ie. this is why humanware had to change the name from touch to touch +, new model for new version of android).

Blindshell is a accessible "Feature" phone so nothing is being "limited" for accessibility! The only reason people feel slighted and limited due to accessibility is because you found out your "feature" phone runs android under the hood! But that's the thing, it's under the hood and not meant to be a android smart phone. It's meant to be a accessible feature rich "feature" phone.

The only reason todays feature phones are running android in the background is due to the fact it gives the manufacturer the ability to put full featured experiences in their apps on the device rather then using the old, out of date, non-accessible feature phone operating systems of years ago.

If anyone wants me to go deeper in the weeds I can try to find my moms old feature phone and answer any questions.

My suggestion is to reword the petition to get actual stuff done instead of asking for pipe dreams. The mms a TTS stuff is good things to ask for, so is the holiday, voices, and country stuff.
