You really should be fine depending on when where you live was built, 
but your kitchen is required to have GFI outlets, and here is what Brava 
states.

  * Connect to a properly grounded three-prong ground-fault current
    interruption (GFCI) outlet


I have had zero issues with mine being connected to a kitchen outlet.
