I’ve had two nest thermostats. Work excellent. I had the nest. Basic thermostat would still connect through the Google Home app. But decided I wanted to upgrade to the nest learning thermostat fourth generation which I did last year. It also works even better since it’s not battery operated like the basic one is. Also, it works with THE temperature sensors, which the basic one did not. My apartmentstays exactly where I put it.
Haylie.

Since you use an iPhone, if you have a homepod mini or an apple tv, you can also pair this thermostat to the Apple Home Kit via the Apple Home app. If you do so, you can also control some basic features through SIRI.
