[Fabs] Convention Highlights!

Hello!
We are so excited to announce that FABS is officially a division of the
NFB!!!!!
On Saturday at the student business meeting, we held elections and
collected dues from everyone who were interested in becoming official
members. During elections, we voted that Jannik was President, Z'Leah was
Vice President, Meli was treasurer, and Sewar was secretary. Congrats to
all!
Our meetings will be held on the third Sunday of each month at 6pm (Next
meeting for October is the 17th so be there or be square!). Also at the
convention, we hosted a fundraiser table where we sold Crispy Cream and
Publix donuts along with a 50/50 raffle. Thank you to all who contributed
to that as well! Because of you, we were able to successfully sell all 6
dozen donuts and were able to complete our 50/50 raffle in one day!
Congratulations to our 50/50 winner!
I think it is pretty safe to say that our new board is excited to get to
work and begin to "Live the Life We Want!" and to form a new family with
all of the affiliates!
I'd also like to put out a huge congratulations to the new board members of
the National Federation of the Blind of Florida with Paul Martinez as
president and Jorge Hernandez as Vice President, and to all the 2021
Scholarship recipients this year!
This convention was a memorable one and I personally can't wait to do it
again next year!
