Everett,
Thank you. I can only add to this that Beth asked how she can tell her friends that their lifestyle is a sin. That is where repentance comes in. If you have a sin in your life, to repent is to do a 180 degree turn from it towards God. You don't do it any more, you don't look at it any more, you don't even think about it any more. There are plenty of Christians that understand repentance and have trouble with specific sins in their lives.

Subject: [Faith-talk] Did Jesus Heal Homosexuals?

> Hello Beth, and all,
>
> I've tried to stay out of this. It does not help
> anyone learn, if they feel ganged-up on. But with
> respect, Beth, I share one point in all this:
>
> Jesus both lived and preached the word, God's truth,
> daily. Did He "heal" sinners? Not of their sin, no.
> And homosexuality - just as is lying, fornication,
> adultery, murder - are all sins. What He did do was
> share God's Truth with them, and some it changed, yes.
> And others it drove away. But God did not physically
> "heal" anyone of homosexuality, because it is a sin,
> not a disability that needs "healing." It is not of
> the same ilk as leprosy, or some disease, or some
> physical disability. It is sin, plain and simple.
> Just as is lying, adultery, murder, etc. The Holy
> Bible - God's inspired word (2 Tim 3:16 - "All
> scripture is God-breathed...") says this constantly,
> consistently, throughout the 66 books that comprise the
> Bible.
>
> Jesus did not heal from sin. He did, however,
> constantly warn against the consequences of it, for the
> unrepentant heart.
>
> So, though many of us who try our best each day to live
> the way Jesus tells us to, often go about it poorly, it
> is our command, it is our life, to try to help others
> understand when and if they're purposely living in sin.
> We will be hated by some for speaking the truth--as was
> Jesus. No matter, it is the task given all those who
> come to know and grasp the beauty that is Jesus Christ.
>
> Though ultimately I leave it up to God of course, it
> seems "logical" to me that one cannot know Jesus truly,
> and continue living in daily sin. Though one may make
> poor choices and fall back to their old ways at times,
> to do so willingly and continuously is not living for
> Jesus Christ. And though many call themselves
> Christians while sinning, willingly, on a continuing
> basis, Jesus said that many will call Him, "Lord,
> Lord," but on the day of Judgement, He will say He
> never knew them. To be a Christian is to follow
> Christ. To follow Christ means to pay attention to
> what He actually says in His word, the Holy Bible. And
> the Bible says not to give in to the urges or
> temptation of homosexuality, as it is a sin.
>
> Anyway, in summary, no, Jesus did not heal homosexuals
> of their homosexuality. It is not a disability or
> disease that needs physical healing. It is a sin, as
> are several other things that Jesus warns against
> numerous times in His word, the Bible.

>> Okay. So Jesus loved and healed people with
