Today's Scripture *Christmas Day* December 25, 2009

Luke 1:34

Mary asked the angel, "But how can this happen? I am a virgin."

The birth of Jesus to a virgin is a miracle that many people find hard to
believe. These four facts can aid our faith :

(1) Luke was a medical doctor; and he knew perfectly well how babies are
made. It would have been just as hard for him to believe in a virgin birth
as it is for us, yet he reports it as a fact.

(2) Luke was a painstaking researcher who based his Gospel on eye witness
accounts. Tradition holds that he talked with Mary about the events he
recorded in the first two chapters of Luke. This is Mary's story, not a
fictional invention. And Mary is someone Luke would have known and spoken
to
on several occasions.

(3) Christians and Jews, who worship God as Creator of the universe,
should
have no doubts that God has the power to create a child in a virgin's
womb.
After all -- God created the World with His own hands!

(4) Luke records the account of prophesy being fulfilled. Isaiah said
that
the Messiah would be born from a virgin's womb--and that is exactly what
happened when Mary conceived Jesus by the Holy Spirit and gave birth to
the
Savior of the world; Jesus Christ; Immanuel, God is with us!

Matthew 1: 23 "Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give
birth
to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.'"

Isaiah 7: 14 All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign.
Look!
The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will
call
him Immanuel (which means 'God is with us').

O Lord! We are so thankful for the mighty works of Your hands!

You brought Your Son, Jesus Christ, into this world through the virgin's
womb just as You promised long ago.

You are always good for Your Word! May we remember that as we go about
our
daily lives!

You say what You mean and You do what You say!

Thank You for this season when we can celebrate worldwide the birth of
our
Savior, Christ Jesus, Immanuel!

God is with us! Praise You Lord! May we remember all year round the
precious
gift You have blessed us with!

In Jesus' Name, Amen..

Merry CHIRSTmas!!

God bless you richly with His precious peace!
