Hello Mary
This is Joanne Jordan here. I know just how you are feeling, but you must
be feeling it much more than I. Let me explain.
My cousin Gail just died of cancer of the pancreas last Thursday. Last
February, we were told that she had it. They ended up taking most of a lung
out that had cancer and also a big tumor in her stomach, so that the cancer
was spread throughout her body. We knew it, but I prayed for a healing if
it was the Lord's will.
I talked with her a few times after that but she went slowly and painfully
downhill. This was hard for me to do, but last Saturday night, I prayed to
the Lord that if it was his will to take her quickly so that she would not
have to suffer any more than she did. I wanted to call her and ask her to
ask Jesus in to her heart to be her Lord and savior because she was a sinner
so she needed Jesus to be her Lord and savior.
I am suggesting that you ask the Lord what his will is and if it is to be
so, pray that your father will not have to suffer any more than he is. Is
he saved? You might want to pray on the phone to him before it is too late.
I could not get to cousin Gail because I was fighting a cold for the whole
month of October and had to build up my strength, but I have been in close
communication with my family.
I wish I were there to comfort you. This is not an easy time for you at
all.
Feel free to give me a call if you want to talk. Just reply if you don't
have my number and I'll send it in a separate e-mail.
Blessings!
Joanne Jordan

Subject: [Faith-talk] Urgent Prayer

Hello everyone,

I talked to both my brother and my mother this weekend, and it looks
like the situation with my dad is not good. He completed the two weeks of
radiation treatment on Friday, and it did not help at all. His hip is still
in as much pain as it was before the treatment. I talked to him Friday
evening, and he sounded tired. Today, my mother called me on her cell phone,
which wasn't the best of connections, but I was able to hear her. She tried
to get Dad to come to the phone, but he was not feeling well. She said that
he slept all day yesterday, and today, he was not feeling well. I'm saying,
in a nutshell, that it's touch and go with him, so whatever prayers you can
pray will be appreciated. I'm praying for him too. Mother isn't sure whether
to take him back to Wisconsin or whether to stay in Arizona. In any case,
Lord willing if he's still alive, I'll be going somewhere after Christmas,
whether it's Arizona or Wisconsin. I left a message a little while ago with
my cousin in Mesquite, Texas, and I let my supervisor at work know that, if
I was not all there tomorrow, that the situation with my dad was why. I
think she understood.

At any rate, whatever prayers you can pray will be very much appreciated
at this time. God bless you ahead of time, and thank you advance for your
prayers!

Mary Donahue
