[Faith-talk] Did Jesus seize the day?

Hi Mary -- I'm sorry to hear about your brother. If it is any consolation, I
know 2 people -- one friend and one cousin -- who are leukemia survivors,
having received successful stem cell transplants and survived those critical
5 years, after which they say the person is cured. It doesn't always work
that way, but it never ceases to amaze me how some people just survive
serious illness. I also had a childhood friend survive bone cancer and live
to adulthood -- the cancer just shrank and disappeared. The interesting
thing was, she had faith that it would -- while the medics were shaking
their heads and giving her months to live, she was saying "but I just don't
think I'm going to die".
As for Jesus' life, he had a different mission to fulfill, and one that he
said wasn't necessarily what he wanted, but he did what the Father wanted.
I think he probably did seize the day, as you say, during his life. I think
to say otherwise would be to make him a machine and not a sentient being
with a soul.
What do others say?

Subject: [Faith-talk] Did Jesus seize the day?

Dear Friends,
I want to ask everyone a question. My brother was just diagnosed
with Leuchemia. It caused me once again to think about the
fragility of life. I was thinking about Jesus. When you think
about it, He was young when he died. Did He do things in a
certain time frame, and what things? I am trying to get to how I
feel that I want to do things right away, see people I love,
maybe go certain places that I have dreamed of seeing. Do we
have any evidence that Jesus felt this way?
Well, thanks for your thoughts.
Mary Wurtzel
