It sounds like a great time of fellowship, etc. The Florida Christian
Fellowship of the Blind doesn't receive as much sponsorship from the
Florida Baptist Convention as it did in the past but the Orlando
Christian Fellowship had an anonymous donor and combined with what FBC
gave, we had a four day conference at the Lake Yale Conference Center
in March 2010. We are planning on having another conference May
18-21,2011 at Lake Yale. The theme hasn't been decided yet and cost
will depend on donations. We are asking members to ask for $100 from
their individual churches to help keep the cost down. Anyone is
welcome so, if you would like to come, mark your calendars. The cost
will hopefully be $65 per person two in a room and $140 for a single
room for one person.
We have Miami Baptist Fellowship of the Blind meetings the first
Thursday of each month, September thru May at different hosting
churches with a dinner, singing, devotion, prayer, and fellowship. All
are welcome to attend regardless of denomination/belief. If
interested, email me off list at valkemadenise at aol.com.
Thanks,
Denise

Subject: [Faith-talk] Texas Church Conference of the Blind Annual
Retreat
Hi Everyone,
I trust the following will be of interest to you.
Are you looking forward to a weekend of fun, food, fellowship, Bible
teaching, and spiritual rejuvenation? The Texas Church Conference of
the
Blind (TCCB) will hold its annual weekend
retreat during the weekend of August 6-8, 2010, at Mount Lebanon Baptist
EncamPMent in Cedar Hill, Texas. The cost for the entire weekend,
including
2 nights lodging in a motel-style room (with typically 2 to a room),
and 6
generous meals is only $95.00. We have a total of 3 partial
scholarships
available for first-time attendees, and requests for these must be
received
no later than June 30. For those paying the full amount, the money
should
reach us by July 26. Checks may be made payable to TCCB with "retreat"
in
the memo line, and mailed to Glenda Goodwin, TCCB Treasurer, 2319
Famous
Drive, #811, Dallas, TX 75208.
Our theme this year is Praying Without Ceasing, based on 1 Thesalonians
5:17; our theme hymn is Sweet Hour of Prayer; our keynote speaker is
Michael
Justice, a dynamic blind minister and Dallas Theological Seminary
graduate.
The retreat will feature chapter programs from throughout Texas, a
talent
and inspiration time, a short business meeting, and a moderated Bible
discussion.
For further information, please contact Rhanda Hasley, TCCB President at
rhanda.hasley at sbcglobal.net.
God bless you, and look forward to seeing you there.
In Christ,
Rhanda Hasley
