Encouragement for today, Monday edition: BIG SIN, LITTLE SIN
Have you ever noticed how people react differently to different sins?
Christians tend to think, for instance, that if their son or daughter is
"living in sin" with someone of the opposite sex that they are doomed
indeed. That's just an example. What they don't take into account is that
if they themselves get angry and lose their cool and vent on someone, they
are sinning just as much as the one "living in sin". Sin is sin. There's no
sin bigger than another. God cannot look upon ANY sin because He is all
holy.
Psalm 4:3-5 (King James Version)
3But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the
LORD will hear when I call unto him.
4Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed,
and be still. Selah.
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Psalm 85:1-3
1Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back
the captivity of Jacob.
2Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all
their sin. Selah.
3Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the
fierceness of thine anger.
A Christian's sin is under the blood of Jesus. All they have to do is ask
and they are forgiven...immediately. No more sack cloth and ashes required.
Romans 5:1-3 (King James Version)
Romans 5
1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that
tribulation worketh patience;
A Christian's children are separated out from the world by the faith of
their believing parent or parents. God already sees them through the blood.
Instead of condemning a young person for their wrong doing, show the love
of God to them and let God bring them into the kingdom. God is quite
capable of convicting of sin without a parent's help. People who try to
take on the role of Holy Spirit in their unsaved loved ones' lives tend to
chase them away and harden them to the Lord instead of leading them to Him.
