[Faith-talk] my intro

Hi all,
I’ve been a lurker for a few days. I’ve been off and on this list. I sometimes find I don’t have time for all lists I want to be on.

My name is Ashley. I am a graduate from marymount university in 2009 with a BA in liberal studies.
My focus was psychology and communication. I am in a transition now. I’m trying to get more skills through VR; I want my counselor to pay for advanced computer training in the office suite so I’ll be more employable.

I cannot find a job anyway; as all say you need a lot of experience; usually two years. I want to work in outreach or communication but whatever God brings me and I’m happy there is the important thing.

I was raised Methodist and actually am looking for a church that is more young adult oriented. I hope to find a community bible study that may or may not be tied to a church. I’m also thinking about volunteer work to serve God. Maybe serving at a soup kitchen.
I drifted away from the methodist church because I wasn’t impressed with the minister. That is not saying all them are bad; just saying that his style wasn’t for me and my family. I might find another one though I like.

Anyway, I’m still a christian and want to grow in faith. I find it harder though being legally blind. There are christian bookstores, but I cannot read those books. So many resources out there that are in print.

My other interests are reading, writing, card games, and exercise.

Ashley
