[Faith-talk] my intro

Felicia,
Thanks for the note. I'm not alone in my frustration then.
I grew up Christian. When going to church, I was very fortunate that my
Sunday school got braille materials for me. They were in comb binding books
on that plastic paper; not sure where it was from though. Anyway, this
allowed me to read the
story with everyone else. I didn't have a braille bible at the time, so I
listened to everyone else read. If we had to read silently, someone read to
me away from the group and I rejoined them afterward.
Later I found out we could get a free braille Bible so we got it for me.
I think my sunday school teachers did a pretty good job including me. Also,
my Methodist church got me braille hymnals. The disadvantage is that I
cannot stand with everyone and sing if I'm reading a braille hymnal in my
lap. At least I have a copy and can sing though.

I wasn't as well included in youth events though. Overall, though, I did
most religious activities like my brothers did.

As with most things, Christian books, magazines, newsletters, devotionals,
etc are in print.
There must be like five Christian bookstores near me; some are in the mall;
some are combined with music so its a Christian music and bookstore.
Despite the digital age where much is online or bought on Amazon, Christian
bookstores seem to be doing pretty well.
But I cannot access them.

Ashley
