i think you are correct, and i also believe it depends on how we as parents 
present things to our children.'
 my kids knew from the time they could understand us that there was no such 
thing as Santa Claus or the easter bunny as well as the info about 
Halloween, as young people we have allowed them to go to school and wear 
costumes and they are fine, i took an amazing amount of criticism from my 
former inlaws because the costume thing at halloween and the santa thing at 
Christmas is a huge deal in their family but we never lived near them.
 my family on the other hand had two families, my brother and his family as 
well as myself that did not do the santa thing or halloween or easter bunny. 
my parents supported us in our decisions. jeanette
