witch craft is very real and alive and active in our world. but generally
Joshua, it s not a huge part of the everyday activities of kids and
halloween, as i said if you were dealing with your own children you would
see it is not a part of the school system, it is not taught is an ok part of
life in schools, and the little kids who are participating in halloween are
not desiring to be withces.
now that having been said the Harry Potter thing has done a great deal more
damage to kids than most people know, the school where my daughter went to
4th and 5th grade used the potter stuff as an option for reading in school
and that line of books teaches there is such a thing as good witches, my
kids have never read any of those books and don't have the desire to do so.
howeveri have Christian friends, with great Christian kids who have read
it and have no desire to be a part of witch craft.
the Bible tells us God uses all things to work to the good of those who
love Him. we need to use every opportunity to show God's love to folks,
this idea that we are ugly about halloween and preach all this stuff to
folks makes us look foolish in some eyes, fanatical in others, and if we are
loving in however we handle it and sometimes we let our kids dress up is
much more effective in many ways.
but to make a statement lie you do from time to time if folks do this or
that they are not good Christians is judgemental and wrong.
God knows the heart of His people, and it is God who will deal with such
things.
we have always tried to share our beliefs with folks and God's love rather
than judgement and hatefulness and we have had great success with sharing
why we don't do this or that in society.
we need like Andrew said to share the Gospel all of the time even when
dealing with such things as Halloween, Santa Claus and the Easter bunny.
each of us has to deal with it n the way God leads us to do.
i grew up in a family that did the whole Santa thing, Easter bunny thing
andHalloween, i am fine, never did any witchcraft or anyting and am not
damaged because my mom stil signs her gifts to the kids at Christmas as
Santa Claus, my kids love her andunderstand it is a tradition with her
andmeans nothing evil to her.
