> A Decade Later
> Patriot Day is a day to remember those who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It’s also a time to be thankful that the nation pulled through such tragedy. Many remember this day with hate, anger and bitter sadness. When thinking of what happened on 9-11, it may be difficult to keep your mind on a positive track.
> That they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God.
> Psalm 78:7
> Psalm 78 declares the people of Israel guilty for forgetting the good things God had done for them: the parting of the red sea, and the cloud by day and the fire by night. It describes the hard times God allowed them to go through because they continually disregarded His loving care and complained against Him.
>
> Even though the 9-11 tragedy happened and, a decade later, the nation’s still going through many difficulties, Americans must remember that God is good, holy and just. In George Washington’s first inaugural speech, he said, “No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than those of the United States.” This still holds true today. Acknowledge Him as the good, loving God He is…and seek His help and comfort on this solemn day for America.
