[Faith-talk] We want America Back!

Hi.

I was very curious about the discussion so I listened to the song.  I
have a lot of problems with it.  First of all, the language is very
demanding and militaristic.  "Taking this country back."  Whatever
happened to they will know us by our love?

Also, the line that mentioned "Those who lose self control" just made
me laugh and laugh.  This is what nonChristians don't like about
Christains--some Christians put themselves above others who aren't
Christians, as though as Christians, we can never do anything wrong or
lose our self control.  This is not true.  Many Christians are tempted
and sin and are forgiven again.  Of course, it's not as simple as
that, but that's not my point.

I don't think Jesus would agree with the sentaments in this video.  He
was not militaristic.  He was gentle, and he hung out with the
sinners.  He did not look down upon them while trying to save them.

Just my thoughts.  I agree that the song could have done better to
mention evangilism.  I also believe that it is too legalistic.  I do
like the line about the train going down the wrong track though!  Lol
