Hey Tina,
Exactly. Overall, consider if you're accepted and based on the first post 
she was not.
But for taking communion, you could have it brought to you as you said or 
compromise based on the problem.
One could go to the communion table and be on the end of the table where the 
dog would have more room.

How do you cane users do it? Where does the cane go? I usually used a 
sighted  guide for this activity.
Do you find your seat alright after you're done?

I suppose however you travel and partake in this ritual is fine if it works 
well for you and the congregation doesn't mind it.

Well, I'm new to this list and a former guide dog user. You definitely
should be at a church where you are accepted. I didn't have issues
taking my dogs up to communion for the most part, and when there was an
issue, they were more than happy to bring communion to me so maybe that
is something she can think about but the bigger part is are you
accepted in your church in the first place. we should try and be
Christ-like which means a little more accepting of someone who is or
does things differently.
