Hello and good day to all of you. How was your day today? Mine was really super, by God's matchless grace and His providential care. By the word "super," I mean that for about the last week I've been able to take my daily and sometimes twice-daily stroll around our block, what with the cooler weather here in the mid-Atlantic region of the country. However we, and possibly other parts of our country and perhaps even Canada, desperately need rain, not only for the crops, but also to refresh the atmosphere. However vital that is needed, we also need a spiritual rain to come down on our two countries and, I would expect, other parts of our world as well.

The author of this prayer-poem, Pearl Bryans whose location isn't given, really struck a note with me recently when I reread or rather relistened to her poem. Entitled "Struggle," it is rendered as follows:

Lord, I'm glad you made me struggle with my soul.
Lord, I'm glad You made me more completely whole.
When I have the trials
That seem to come my way,
It makes me more dependent on You,
And I begin to pray.

And there you have it, short but sweet. I do hope, however, that Sister Pearl's contribution also resonated with many, if not all, of you.

And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, throughout this night or day and especially in these last evil days in which we live. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
