Well, here in North America we have come to the end of another week and another Saturday. For most of us, tomorrow will be the day on which we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whether that be from an online church, a local service on radio or TV, or a brick-and-mortar congregation. For those of you in Australia or New Zealand you probably have already worshipped corporately. If so, I hope that, by God's matchless grace and His providential care, that you had a good service today.

The poem for this evening was written by a lady named Melinda Fillingim from North Carolina. Don't know if anyone from the Tar Heel State has ever heard of her, but it would appear that she might be blind or visually impaired, judging from one of the sentiments expressed. Her contribution this evening is entitled "Faith Walking" and is rendered as follows:

Faith that believes in the darkness
Hope that shines through the night
Love that holds me together
All give my blind eyes clear sight.

The valley may be deep
My burdens hard to bear
But knowing God is with me
Helps my heart not to fear.

Again, if any of you know this lady, please convey our thanks to her for her submission in the Summer 2012 Lutheran Digest. Thanks in advance.

And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, throughout this night or day and especially in these last days in which we live. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
