[Faith-talk] being healed from blindness

I've been told I needed new eyes. But that's not the case. My
boyfriend is Christian, believes in the tithing and offering money to
church, but I've only had one outing with friends since I went to my new
church. What I really want out of the membership at Grace Community
Church in Denver is something like a church where anyone will be willing
to lend a hand and that I can do the same thing for someone else. I
want to be able to, for instance, babysit. Or maybe, at some point, I
could do worship team. And yes, I want a church ful of willing hands
and people who can cook meals for me when I get a baby, cook meals for
me when Blake dies or something happens to us, or even celebrate with us
when our babies are dedicated. We need a support network, and churches
don't often do that.

I try and use it as an opertunity to explain that God has revieled himself to me in ways I couldn't imagine if I had still had my sight, but they don't seem to here a word.

>>> Dear list, First, as someone wi!th a doctorate in theology, I must say I've not seen anywhere in scripture Christ refur to blindness as something to be looked upon as evil, and yet, the church tens to pity us. I've not seen this in my own church thank the Lord, but I know some of you have. God allowed to be blind, and I don't need some faulse teacher to tell me to claim my healing, just so they can bum money off me
