Yes,  its personal preference. churches are made of people and like all 
social institutions, the people band together based on common interest or 
personality traits. Also,  as I said in another post, people come and go 
from churches, so members may not notice you.
Its not that they are deliverately ignoring you, but with so much going on, 
it happens.
So I think we just have to go to church, meet people, talk to those after 
church or at sunday school, and pretty soon they will know and remember us.

agreed there is a double standard but I don't think it is based entirely
on scripture I think it is more a personal preference not a conviction.
