Hello Mustafa, I know that you are always seeking to improve your ability to
communicate in the English language, so I took a little time to make some
changes in what you emailed. I understand that one of the hardest things to
do is write in another language. There is sometimes difficulty in knowing
how to mix the informal and formal aspects of conversational writing when
you are not a native speaker of that particular language. I hope this is
helpful to you in some way.
Hello everyone, I hope that you are all doing well, and that all of your
Holiday plans work out, and if not then I hope they go even better than you
anticipated.
Today I intend to talk about the ambitions I have for blind people and some
goals for blind people in 2014. As I talk about these plans for blind
individuals, I am not talking about the domestic aspect of our goals, but
rather, my aim is to ask this question globally.
Have we really improved blind people's employment rate in some parts of the
world?
As blind people, I think we need to be more interconnected on an
international basis. I believe that we are very efficient at doing this on
an individual level, But, we should make an effort to create more
organizational groups with greater levels of communication.
I have always wanted to reach the World Blind Union, because I would like to
communicate with them regarding the employment rate for blind people in
Egypt, and reach their international coordinator for some partnership
proposals.
I have looked at their website under the contact us page, and I did not
find that particular information.
I have learned that they are located in Toronto Canada, but I am sure that
they are willing to reach out to blind people outside of their country.
I would like to be able to benefit from their experience on tackling
legislative issues, what obstacles they have had to confront, and how they
were successful to overcome them.
I am convinced that the main barrier for employment for the blind is a
deficiency of legal guarantees. As a community, We should really make it a
priority to work on this. We should not work on this randomly or
individually, but We should instead work together to integrate and establish
legislation that would increase the employment rate for adequate blind
applicants. Here in Egypt, we need to permanently abandon the 5% law,
because the employment rate should essentially depend on a person's
qualifications and experience, in spite of any other irrelevant
circumstances bassed on a %.
Canada is known for being the top worldwide country on recognizing the human
rights principles. Thus, I would like to benefit and learn from their
experiences because I believe that by understanding their policies it would
help to further these goals.
Finally, I want to add another personal goal for 2014. I would like to
participate in improving the employment rate for blind people in Egypt, by
emphasizing the qualifications of the individual, instead of hiring a
certain number of individuals to fulfill a %. This is my battle for Egyptian
blind people in 2014. And I will initially relate to the constitution draft,
which has been scheduled for referendum in the fourteenth and the fifteenth
of January. This draft supposedly guarantees the right for blind people, but
we will see how true this is.
I wish you all a very pleasant provenience in 2014.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post, and Happy New Year.
Mostafa.
