Well, Thursday evening is upon us here in North America, whereas in other countries it's already Friday morning or afternoon. I hope and pray that, by God's matchless grace and His providential care, that your day or evening are going well.
Are you tired of all this new year's stuff? Well, you'll be glad to know that we don't have too many more things for you. Case in point is a poem by Mary Lou Kincaid entitled "A New Year Is dawning," rendered as follows:
Thank You, dear Lord,
For lending us breath to see another year through.
We're thankful for blessings You've given to us
And for loved ones we've seen come to you.
Oh, yes, there's been heartache and sorrow,
But we count them not as loss,
For You've told us in Your precious Word
That we, too, must take up our cross.
Behold, a new year is before us.
Oh, may it be better than the past,
And may we each do our part for You
And live as though it were our last.
Now, if those words of Sister Mary didn't speak to you, I don't know what did, because they sure did to the undersigned.
And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, throughout this night or day and especially in these last days in which we live. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
