Hello and good midweek day to most of you. Those readers of mine who live in Australia and New Zealand are in their Thursday morning, at least by the time you read these lines. Anyway I hope and pray that, by God's matchless grace and His providential care, that your day is going well, about to end or about to begin.

We've another poem for you today. It was my pleasure and privilege to read this to my friend Carol Platt of East Pittsburgh, PA when I visited her this past May, and she really liked it. I read it just before we retired to our beds, she to her bedroom on the ground floor and I to my temporary one in the basement of her house. This poem is entitled "An Evening of Hope" by Charles G. Ramsey and is rendered as follows:

I sat in the quiet evening hour
As the lengthening shadows grew,
And my gaze was fixed on the parting sun
In a change of the genlest hue.
And I could not help but contemplate
On the close of another day,
That the end of the day has a beauty, too,
As the morning light's first ray.

And so it is in the life we live,
Though moments be weary or long,
At end of the day, the sun's parting ray
Brings the gentle evening song.

I have lived my day on earth below,
And now with the evening's rays,
I can know no fear but expectant hope,
For my trust is in Christ, the Way.

And though lengthening shadows round me twine,
I will never fear the night;
To the golden hues of my heavenly home,
I am guided by Christ, my Light.

And there you have Brother Charles's poem which I hope you enjoyed reading. Don't know if I've mentioned this or not, but if there is at least one reader in the Pittsburgh area who knows how Carol Platt is doing, I'd appreciate it. The two people whom I've contacted don't know, so we're back to Square One. Because this is a private request, if you know about her welfare please message me at oilofgladness47 at gmail.com. Thanks for any help you can offer.

And now until tomorrow when, Lord willing another daily thought message will be presented, may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, in these last days in which we live. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
