Hello and welcome to this Wednesday or, for some readers, a somewhat early Thursday morning as this is being written. I hope that you are all doing very well, by God's matchless grace and His providential care.
There is no author given for this article, but it is written in the form of what I take to be an acrostic. His/her contribution is entitled "Easter And Its Meaning," rendered as follows:
Now is Christ risen from the dead. Believe on that risen Savior and at the last day you also will rise from the dead to everlasting joy and peace.
E: EVERYONE HAS SINNED. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
A: ALL DESERVE PUNISHMENT. "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:4).
S: SALVATION IS ONLY IN A LIVING CHRIST. "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
T: TRIUMPH OVER SIN AND DEATH. "For in that He died, He died unto sin once; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God" (Romans 6:10).
T: EVERMORE ALIVE! "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore" (Revelation 1:18).
R: REPENT! "Repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mark 1:15).
And there you have it for today. Hope you got the message about Easter and its meaning. My thanks to the unknown author for this concise definition.
And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, in these last days in which we live. Lord willing, tomorrow there will be a Maundy Thursday article, if I can find one suitable for that day, but if not, will find another one. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
