Hello.
What is original sin in Christianity?
Original sin in Christianity is the doctrine that when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowing the knowledge of good and evil according to Genesis, the sinfulness has entered into the world.
Not just that.
But even all the ancestry of Adam and Eve, they have been stigmatized with what is now known in Christian Theology as the original sin.
Islam teaches that we all are born sinful by nature.
But at the same time, we were born in pure innocence.
We have the desire to sin but, we have not done so.
We are given the free will to either devote ourselves to good deeds, or to commit sins.
In Christianity though, the concept is different.
We already are born in sin.
Is it that we have the desire to sin, or we have sinned whilst we have not done anything.
And another crucial concern;
Does the redemption of Christ abrogate the desire to sin along with the inherited aptitude of original sin?
I would like you my friends to critically attempt reflecting on the book of Genesis.
Lingually, the term genesis signifys the provenience of something or its coming into being.
Theologically, it is the first book of the Old Testament.
It narrates the tales of Creation, Adam and Eve, the Fall of Man, Cain and Abel, Noah and the flood.
It also includes the covenant of God with Abraham, Abraham and Isaac, Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his brothers.
It deliberately casts prophet Ishmael peace be upon him.
The reason for that he is the great grandfather of prophet Muhammad may the salutes of Allah and His serenity be upon him.
Therefore, Genesis promulgated him illegitimate, hoping that prophet Muhammad would consecutively inherit the same reputation.
Surely Allah knows what the intentions are, and He is the fairly ultimate Judge on the day of vindicatory.
Well, I have some questions regarding the book of Genesis.
As I just mentioned, the book of Genesis contains the biblical chronicle of Adam and Eve.
And within the distinctive biblical chronicle, it mentions why Adam and Eve were predominantly reprobated for not complying to the divine abnegation of God.
The cerpent beguiled Eve, she tempted her spouse and thus, God punished her with bearing labor pains, her desire will be devoted to her husband, and that shall he rule over her.
That sounds quite suppressive to me.
Is not that considered a radical denigration of women and their sacrificial disposal within the Bible?
Does the Bible consider the labor pain a just retribution for Eve and her daughters as she listened to the cerpent?
And, why in Genesis Eve has not been plainly admonished about the forbidden tree and the threat of the devil?
Also, why in Genesis the devil has been depicted a cerpent?
Should have not the devil been explicitly mentioned?
Another very important question, when Adam and Eve sinned, and in Islam they sinned indeed, but Allah made them to repent and He glory be to Him approved their penitence.
But in the Bible, why they were not given the chance to repent?
And more importantly, Why they were extremely punished for the first sin they committed in their lives?
Why the redemption of Christ did not intervene at this point?
I suppose that the redemption of Christ is divine and eternal.
So it had to have a major role, but it certainly had not been brought, as it has been portrayed in the book of Genesis.
The attitude of Christ being the sacredly divine lamb is utterly absent within the chronicle of Adam and Eve in Genesis.
In Genesis 3 22; it says what I will not quote.
You can check it out and then answer the following questions:
Please, do not answer my questions before hand, as they are directly related to Genesis 3 22.
Whom the Lord was talking to when he said;
Behold the man has become like one of us knowing the knowledge of good and evil.
What is the problem if the man was aware of good and evil?
Does not he suppose to know so he can choose for himself?
Why it is troubling to the Lord for the man to know the knowledge of good and evil?
The justification of that is elusive to be quite fair.
And more significantly;
Why the redemption of Christ has not been presented straightaway?
What has the Lord been waiting for?
Now, I do not denounce the Bible.
I am questioning its theological authority.
I do not believe in the tears of the crocodile.
Someone has to thoroughly answer these crucial enquiries.
I believe that the doctrines of Crucifixion and Redemption are essentially based on what has been recognized as the tennet of original sin.
So, if we consistently prospered to doubt the rational authenticity of the original sin, that would sequentially extend to questioning the reliability of what is based on its genuineness.
The subject is vastly deep, and I am trying to research its authenticity as further as I can.
The Christian Theology is essentially centered around the concept of original sin.
So, what if that concept seems to be undecipherable and it does not make sense anymore.
Again, my aim is farther than just striving to invoke religious suspicions within the layman Christian mind.
My aim is to encourage my Christian friends to profoundly reflect and meditate.
Thank you for reading, I apologize for causing any unintended offence by raising that sensitive subject.
Have a pleasant time.
