[Faith-talk] discussion regarding tarrot and astrology

Jorge,

I have never been able to find any accessible cards out there. I used to braille label them, but that makes the deck too thick.

Now what I do is use labels from Digit-Eyes, though you could use something like the Pen Friend as well. Then you scan each label and record the name of the card. After that it’s simple to shuffle the deck, pull a spread, and scan each card to see what it is. With Digit-Eyes, it takes me only a few seconds to scan the label and get the description. Best of all it doesn’t make the deck very thick at all, so it will still fit in most pouches made for Tarot decks.

Astrology is a bit harder. For that, you have to find a way to manually look at an Ephemeris. An ephemeris is a table of all the planetary positions by date. Astrologers generally look at a chart, but you will not be able to do this, unless you have partial vision and can make the chart big enough. But I have no vision. So what I did is downloaded an API called the Swiss Ephemeris. It can only really be used by programmers to include in astrological programs, but I’m a programmer so I made an interface for it. I can plug in a birth date, time, and location, and pull up a table of each planet and its position in the zodiac, as well as house position, and calculated aspects to other planets. I’d be happy to give you access to this script.

If you want to learn Tarot and astrology, I’d be happy to teach you. I’m in the process of writing an ebook on the Tarot, which also goes into depth about the root of Tarot, including astrology and the Qabalah. I’m well-versed in astrology, Qabalah, Tarot and astrology, so would be able to teach you anything you need to know. I just did this with someone else and they became quite talented at Tarot as a result. There’s a lot of information to absorb, but it’s really not that hard.
