Hello and good day to you all. Well, the weekend is coming up here in North America and Europe as this is being written, whereas you in Australia and New Zealand are already in your Saturday morning. Whatever the next day has in store for you, I hope and pray that it will be a happy occasion for you.

The following article by Peter Lundell, a person who was featured before, grabbed my attention and hopefully it will yours. It is entitled "God Gives Direct Access" and is rendered as follows:

What if God ran heaven like a business and installed voicemail? It might sound something like this:

"Thank you for calling heaven. Please select one of the following options: Press 1 for requests. Press 2 for thanksgiving. Press 3 for complaints. Press 4 for all other inquiries. (Make your selection)."

"I'm sorry; all of our angels are busy helping other saints right now. However, your prayer is important to us, and we will answer it in the order in which it was received. Please hold for the next available angel."

"If you would like to speak to God, press 1. For Jesus, press 2. For the Holy Spirit, press 3. If you would like to hear King David sing a Psalm while you are holding, press 4. To find a loved one residing in heaven, press 5, then enter his or her Social Security number followed by the pound sign. If you get a negative response, please hang up and try area code 666. To make a reservation for heaven, please enter J-O-H-N-3-1-6. For answers to nagging questions about dinosaurs, the age of the earth, life on other planets, and where Noah's ark is, please wait until you arrive. Our computers show that you have already prayed once today. Please hang up and try again tomorrow. This office will be closed for the weekend to observe the Sabbath. Please pray again on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. If you are calling after hours and need emergency assistance, please contact your local pastor."

Can you imagine this? No one would pray. Thank God--yes, I mean Him--that He gives us direct access. All the time.

Remember that God hears genuine prayer, even when He's quiet.

And there you have Brother Peter's article which I hope brought you a smile. Reading it reminded me of the old Gospel song whose title, I think, was, "You'll Never Get a Busy Signal On the Prayer Line to Heaven." Does anyone know what I mean here? Of course, the writer was right!

And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, in these last days in which we live. Lord willing, tomorrow there will be another daily thought article for you. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
