Hello list, about three months ago I started praying for God to bring a male
friend into my life to start fellowshipping with. About a month after that I
went to a training for prison ministry and ran into a guy that I had met a
few times about ten years ago. Well, we started talking and have spent time
together every week since then, sometimes two and three times a week. He was
talking to me about his Church and some needs that they had there. I started
going about 6 weeks ago and I have really enjoyed it. My home Church is over
a thousand on any given Sunday service where this Church is at about 130 or
so. I have been received with open arms, been asked to be involved in
different ministries and today I gave a short testimony and an overview of a
program called Angel tree. We were looking to have 5 children sponsored to
receive Xmas presents on the behalf of their incarcerated parent. I have
about ten people come up to me and talk to me after the service and my
friend just let me know that we have a sponsor for every child. I have also
been meeting every Saturday morning with my friend and another member of the
Church at a coffee shop for a kind of accountability/round table meeting,
and I have been going to the worship leaders house on Monday nights for a
bible study. I am feeling really encouraged about what God has been doing in
my life and what he has planned for this Church. If anyone could pray that I
could be humble, faithful and have courage to serv I would appreciate it.
