[Faith-talk] Getting Dragged to Church

I completely agree with you
about children learning about
Christ. Even when we didn't
have a church, my mom read us
the bible and little bible
stories for children. I was
exposed to religion and I am
glad that I had that exposure.
Since I don't have children
of my own, but I am praying
that someday I can adopt, I
will expose them to Christ and
his teachings. I don't
believe that children should
be christened or dedicated and
be baptized when they have
made the decision. Just my
opinion.

Warmly,
Melissa R. Green and Pj
It is 'where we are' that
should make all the
difference, whether we believe
we belong there or not.

Getting Dragged to Church

I believe that it is the
responsibility of parents to
give their
children the opportunity for
learning about the Lord. In
Proverbs, I believe, it says,
Train a child (Debby's
paraphrase:
Train a child in the right
way, and when they get old,
they'll
come back to it. If I had
children, trust me, they'd be
going to
Mass with us every Sunday and
CCD, (Catholic Christian
Development, or Catholic
Children Development, not
sure. Lol.
Basically similar to
children's Sunday school, I
think. Not
growing up Catholic, I'm not
sure. I think it's a souious
mistake for parents to say,
"Well, I'll let my children
decide
later". On what basis are
they to decide? If I had
children and
they chose not to be
Christian, at least I'd want
them to have
the knowledge to know what
they are choosing to leave.

Blessings, Debby
