[Faith-talk] church youth group

Keep talking. Also, talk with the leaders and ask them to help you be aware
of people who aren't part of the "in crowd" and might need help making
friends. Sometimes there are others who need a friend and you might be just
the friend they need.

A few other ideas that helped when I was young and needed ways to
participate in church:

What do you enjoy doing? Are there ways you might be able to participate
even if it isn't in the youth group? Would someone take you with them to
visit shut-ins or people in nursing homes?

Do you enjoy music? Is there a choir or worship team you might get involved
with?

Do you enjoy working with children? If so, try offering to help out once in
a while in the children's ministry. Sometimes this is a difficult area to
get into, but sometimes it goes better than expected, especially if you can
build good relationships with the other workers.

There are lots of other options. Let's keep brainstorming.

I have been in that situation before. It is very difficult to be
accepted as a person who just happens to be blind. Did you every try
to invite the person to dinner, movie, ETC? At least you talk to them
first. Some people just wait for somebody to talk to them first.
Maybe you can ask about hobbies, or things you might have in common
with others.
