[Faith-talk] The Purpose of This List

It would be helpful to me to understand the purpose of the list (and the
communities of faith division as well since I am new to NFB). I know that
the NFB has a division specifically for Jewish members. Where do Muslims go
in the There are valid reasons for members of particular faith groups to
come together to talk about blindness and faith. In both the Christian and
Jewish communities, there are networks of service probiders where people go
for their literature needs, religious education help, accessibility
awareness training for faith communities, etc. I am not acquainted with any
providers of accessible material for blind Muslims in the United States. I
am, in fact, acquainted with some blind Muslims in the United States. One of
them told me she had a braille Quran in Arabic, but she did not know how to
read it and had nowhere to learn unless she went overseas. Friends, this is
not ok. Jews can learn Hebrew in the United States. Christians can learn
Hebrew and Greek if they want to study the Bible in its languages. As a
matter of fact, in doctoral programs where people study biblical languages,
universities often encourage people to study Arabic so that the linguistic
structure can be compared with Hebrew.

I wouldn’t go that far. If Islamic topics are banned, then so should be
Christian topics. As David said, this is not a Christian list. It is a list
about faith.

I agree Mostafa goes overboard, but there shouldn’t be a blanket ban of
Muslims posting. Your own opinions about Islam, or any other faith, are
exactly that: your opinions.
