[Faith-talk] purpose of list, and screen reader question

I, for one, will be majorly bereft if prayers and exchange of views (within reason) are done away with on this list. I think we can all benefit from the obvious (the NFB-related ways of dealing with churches, perspectives on blindness found or not found in Scripture, advocacy, etc), but faith is so holistic—prayer requests or exchanges in areas not directly related to those can impact our overall functioning as blind congregants/people of faith.

Now to a different topic: continuing with the question about navigating the list messages with screen readers, which I never seem to articulate well... I do know how to delete email messages either in the inbox list or as I’m actually reading them, but my question is about messages within the larger message—for instance, if someone is discussing something not of interest to me, or if I have already read that post earlier in the message and don’t want to read it again. Is there a way to delete one particular post in a thread, I guess...

Also, please be careful about using “text-ese” in your messages—very difficult to understand for those of us who are unfamiliar, and/or who use screen readers, to interpret. Spellcheck is also a good thing. I proof all my messages before they go out to evaluate whether what I’ve said is clear and to weed out any nasty typos or spelling issues. Thanks!
