Hi Paul,
My name is Marianne. I am wondering if this is the right group for me. I
am a blind person struggling with many prejudices from sighted Christians.
I also am struggling how to make friends in the faith community. I, for
instance, am really looking for people to volunteer to help me with things
like going shopping in my area. When I went to different churches, I often
get the run around. Does anyone in the group have similar experiences? I
am also looking for people to go to events. I, for instance, am looking for
someone who likes to take walks, go to the movies, museums, etc. A lot of
people in the religious community talk a good game. Again, what is the
experience of other blind people in this group. I do have a sighted life
partner, who does things sometimes. However, I do not want to put too much
on him, as the relationship is extremely important to me.

Marianne

Subject: [Faith-talk] Quotes for Monday, September 12, 2016

Hello and greetings to all my fellow saints of the Most High God, no matter
where you live in this world. I hope that all is going well for you today,
by God's matchless grace and His providential care.

Here are today's two quotes for your consideration, pondering and
reflection.

A candle doesn't lose anything by lighting another candle. (quote
compiler's comment: When I read this for the first time I was reminded by a
passage of, for most people, a nonbiblical passage found in II Esdras 14:25
which goes: "I will light a candle in my heart which shall not be put
out.")

When you are a nurse you know that, every day, you will touch a life or a
life will touch yours. author unknown

And that will do for now. Don't forget that, later on in htis space will be
the weekly Baffling Bible questions answered, this time continuing our
journey through Matthew. Until then or until tomorrow when, Lord willing
more quotes will be posted, I am your obedient servant of the One who lived
an earthly existence, died to pay for your sins and mine, and now lives
forever to bring us His salvation and peace, Oil of Gladness.
