I wonder if many of those organizations you mentioned are not up & running
fully do to the Illinois financial crisis. I still think tha the NFB of
Illinois would be her best bet. I don't know if Rockford has a local NFB
chapter or not. Rockford is a pretty big city, so they should have @ least a
small chapter.

Yeah I know it was incredibly horrifying to me! You would think they would
at least give her the phone number for her local independent living center
and let them answer her questions. I feel the same way-I just want to call
and chew their butts out. I know Illinois is in deep financial crisis, but
it doesn't cost them anything to give her the phone number for Catholic
charities and other nonprofit, non-state run places that might help. Our
state calls those centers aging and disability resource centers. They do
some visiting of people in their homes to check on eligibility for some
programs, but mainly their job is to answer the phone and send people
resources for their situation in the most usable format. Most of the time I
just emailed them and they respond back. I just don't understand Illinois!

her for the phone number to that place and give them a call and give them a
piece of my advice to them and let them know, how awful that was. They
definitely need some prayer.

consider moving to Wisconsin?" Now if that isn't a slap in the face or what?

that I needed I don't know what I would do either. She has a good church and
friends and obviously a very kind building manager that helps her. If I
found doctors that I trusted it would be tough for me to uproot and leave
them as well.
