Patrick,
Thanks for this info! I like how you mentioned your knowledge in a brief,
clear, and nuetral way.
I had forgotten there were two sets of gifts. I was only remembering the
ones in Romans.
Do you have the verses for 1st Corinthians?
Are the physical gifts you mentioned also in 1st Corinthians?
Who is Charles setanley?
I'm not sure my gift. I do know I enjoy helping others. I do like teaching
as well, but not in a faith sense.
Faith is so complex and I'm not the one to try to explain it. I'm still
learning what the Bible means myself as its so big.
I suppose people can have more than one gift.
Pastors have multiple gifts it seems to me; Discernment and teaching are
just two.
Gifts develop overtime, that's for sure.
Ashley

Christine there are two sets of gifts operating here. Those gifts are
mentioned in Romans twelve. Those include but are not limited to prophecy,
service, teaching exhortation mercy etc. teaching and exhortation and
mercy. Spiritual gifts are mentioned infirst Corinthians 12 and include
discernment of spirits etc. The motivational gifts are physical
characteristics which govern interactions between individuals. All physical
and spiritual gifts can be developed which comes with time in the scriptures
and maturity. Charles setanley had an excellent series on the motivational
gifts a number of years ago. In our federation family Mark Riccobono is a
classic example of an exhorter. His wife Melissa is a mercy gift so is
Dianne McGeorge and Sharon Omvig. Dr. Jernigan was a teacher but his major
gifting was prophecy. Mrs. Maurer has two gifts operating. Her
motivational gift is teaching but she also has some mercy in her.
