Hi Ericka!
I am praying for Barb, and all who is in contact with her, and all loved ones. I pray that she has eternity to look forward to. This body we have on earth must parish at some time. I pray that the Lord heals her, but may his will be done. Yes, the NLS is not promoted nearly enough. I advertise it as much as I can, along with the NFB. This is why I get 800 emails a day, and I join new lists all of the time, just so I can get information to people. It has always bothered me that so many people go without, just because they do not get all of the information that is out there. There is so much help right in communities that people do not know about. Awareness is the most important key for us blind folk LOL!

Totally agree with you David! The ease of use and the variety of ways to access the NLS offerings really don't get the attention they deserve. Some people with hearing impairments, like my grandfather, would be able to push buttons and listen to things easier than they could find something on a digital talking book and it's more transferable. They can access it at home or at their child's home, just have to put in a code. Seniors are familiar with the keypad on a regular phone.

My boyfriend's adoptive mother is in her 80s and  in the hospital. A medication is causing her kidneys to shut down. They are coming back a little bit but nobody knows right now if it will continue so she can go home. Diabetes and kidney disease is not a good combination! Please pray for Barb, the family and others who love her.
