Hi,
I read this article, and I totally understand and celebrate why millennials want to get back to the meaningful older traditions. However, I personally do not need the sacraments and littergy to find this meaning. I find this deep meaning and have constant joy and meaning from having a one on one personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus. I did not see that mensioned in this article at all, just knowing Jesus, and making him a part of everything you do. I know that Jesus holds my hand everywhere I go, and I consult him about everything in my everyday life. I even pray to him when I turn on my computer, that he will keep it safe. I just do not see this in the article. Also, I have studied the Word of God for 30 years, and I still hunger for it, and I learn something new every time I read a passage. I get tears in my eyes just sitting here in the chair talking to Jesus, and really getting into his word. I do not see anything in this article about getting into and applying the word of God into your life. I get all of the meaning I can stand by trying to apply God’s word. I do not need these experiences that people say they get from a littergical service. The bread and wine are to comemorate the braking of Jesus’s body, and the blood he shed for our sins, but the bread and wine stay that way, they do not change into something that is super natural like this article talks about. I personally can’t wait to listen to the Word of God many times a day. I don’t have to be in church at all, to experience Jesus Christ putting his arms around me, loving me, and seeing him work in my everyday life. I do not even have to go to church to see all of that. Jesus, to me, is someone who works in my life 24/7, not just during communion. I get tears in my eyes reading in the gospels how Jesus was whipped almost to death, blind folded and punched in the face, and finally, nailed to the cross just for me. He rose again, just for me. He would have done all he did just for me. Now to me, that is the greatest experience I can have. I just don’t understand what people are looking for outside of just knowing that Jesus did all of that, personally just for them. I have greater experiences with Jesus, here in my living room, than I have at a building called a church. God’s church is made up of Christians. The building I am in does nothing for me. It is the people around me and giving to them, no matter what kind of experience I am having. I experience the best joy from my personal Lord and Savior 24/7. I don’t get this. I experience the love of Jesus 24/7.
I guess this is my comment on this!
Have a great one,
David Moore

Yes it's more traditional, but it's more in line with what I like, not just like isn't personal thing, but when I believe in. Anyhow, I know it doesn't make sense to a lot of people. But I just can't go in somewhere that I can't deal with the situations of leadership and such as that. And I can't go into a church that has no hierarchy that can do it they want to, and didn't have a rock party every service. You can "say in the Bible that you want to or not. I don't believe that's what God wants.

I went through hell and high water to deal with that. And it took me a long time to end up back in church. And, there are no Missouri Synod churches here that are going to stay alive. All of them or all of the one we have here, it's on its way to death. So, there are ELCA churches, and as I said, no, I don't have the right to judge anybody. But, no one, and my believe, can be in leadership and be actively game. It just can't happen.

They see what they want to, and don't really know the truth. Don't really see the inner core of what they what it is. Everybody sees the outs The outside of the cathedral, the Rose, the prayers, all that stuff, but they never see the emphasis on the Gospel. Which is what is emphasized the most in the mass. So, again, people can see what they want to. But I don't bother opening the situation up to really see what's inside.

And you're right, everyone has to take their situation and stop and realize taking stock in what they believe in. Not just going with the flow. So, that's everybody. Not just me. So, good night y'all. ide.

It's not right to pick a church just because it is more traditional anymore than it is to pick a church just because it is the closest one to your apartment. If you don't believe the tenants of the faith it's not right for you. No church is perfect because every church, every faith has human beings attempting to live out their face to the best of their ability. Some of them work harder at it than others! But there are churches out there that are more True to the Bible and more living the faith they preach than others. I don't want you to attend Catholic mass just because it's traditional, you agree with most of its political views, and because you can get a ride. I know you're still trying to establish what you believe. I just want to hug you because I'm sure this is so difficult. We should all be re-examining our faith every once in a while. I mean checking to make sure that what's in our heart and how we act is still in line with what we believe. Not that we need a congregational change, but that we become spiritually complacent.
