Sarah, I’m so glad that you’re doing well now and feel you are able to get back into the rest of life again. The pandemic was hard on all. Pandemic sure was a great equalizer for the blind and cited communities. I think somethings became more accessible just because of the pandemic. as to your church, I agree the younger people are much more open to ideas. For example, my husband is now on church council, which never would’ve happened in other places. We have a pastor who is about our age and sees things very very differently than someone who is pastoring in their 70s. it all means basically that whatever the Disability community has done to advocate for their rights and educate, it has worked, it’s just taking generations. Perhaps the universe was built in a week, but that was done by God. Humanity‘s a little slower isn’t it? I’m not so active in our new church, but I help serve communion every Sunday . Are used to teach Sunday school but since we moved to Janesville, our church doesn’t have enough kids of any age. We’ve had three child baptisms so there will be Sunday school coming soon. God bless you.

My church is getting reacclimated to my activity and I am taking that opportunity to reeducate them to what I can do. Who knows what will happen... I am on the older side of the congregation so we will see how that impacts the attitudes. I am finding that younger people are much more open to ideas about me moving around. They don't tend to see me as someone who will fall down the steps, etc.
