Totally agree with you, Ashley. Things are stupid. Here in Wisconsin. It’s all disabilities for themselves as you go into the office as a visually imperative but totally blind person and then their next victim I mean client could be deaf or cognitively challenged autistic or who knows. They don’t get a chance to really learn the essentials of, what people could need. I’m blessed to have a good counselor who actually understands and really supports me. When he was in graduate school, he had a classmate that did all her stuff on a new taker and he thought it was so cool that she put everything in  Braille instead of recording things. He said her hands move faster and his pencil could write! And Lions Club are good place to look, especially since they have the focus on helping people with vision issues. I have never heard of someone having a loan closet for blindness tech, but that would be fantastic if they did.  Here you can find a close closet or a closet for walkers and stuff, but not alone one for tech. 

Well, yes, I do have a part-time job but it’s nothing exciting. I work for Industries for the Blind facility here in Janesville Wisconsin. There’s nothing thrilling about putting pens together or putting it in packaging and sealing them with the quick vac machine, but it pays bills and I’m able to help with that. it has reduced fights with my husband. I am consult that several people I work with have college degrees and at least one with a masters and they’re working there too.
