[Faith-Talk] Thoughts on Spiritual Warfare

I've seen panic attacks and I've seen one person who claimed demonic
possession. Very different.

The panic attacks I've seen caused hyperventillation and lasted several
minutes but then passed. My own personal experience includes anxiety
enough to cause nausea, heart rhythm issues, lack of mental ability to
focus, and of course loss of sleep. That kind can last me close to 24
hours. But ...

The one who said she was possessed screamed a lot. I loved her, and had loved
her for many years, and I sat and listened for 45 minutes straight on
the phone one night, realizing that she was screaming enough to be
continuously hoarse for days. Very different. But I think she was trying
to fight on her own whatever was ailing her, and I wish I had known then
how better to steer her toward letting God do the hard part. The
Evanescence song My Immortal can still make me cry, this some 20 years
later, when the line goes by that says, "I held your hand for all of
these years" because of that experience and others in the same
relationship.

These are my experiences; I have no clinical knowledge in these areas.
